Balsamic Vinegar Reduction
Balsamic vinegar reduction, or what I like to refer to as "black gold", is the final touch that can give your recipe that ' wow' factor. This is an amazing replacement for the more expensive aged balsamic vinegars. Sweet and syrupy, this reduction will enhance the flavors of your salad dressing and, added to oil, it becomes a great butter substitute to dip that homemade bread in. It is also absolutely delicious when drizzled on strawberries. It's almost embarrassing how simple this recipe is, and yet, always leaves my guests impressed. Simply add 1 cup of Modena balsamic vinegar to a small pot and gently boil until it reduces to about 1/2 cup.
